Having grown up in newly developed, suburban neighborhoods – the alleys in Ocean Beach took a little bit of getting used to. Screaming, slurring, transients – many a dumpster divers – the alleyways represented nothing but darkness. A year later, the alley is where I enter my laundry facilities. It is the shortcut to the liquor store. It is where I say good morning to the old homeless dudes with their pitbulls that call me ma’am – with a smile and a weed pipe in their hands. Alleys are a way to sneak around the traffic on Sunset Cliffs Blvd. Alleys have discarded pallets. Alleys have free corkboards. Hello Pinterest ❤ I can’t wait to fill this beauty with Christmas Cards and holiday cheer.
